A type of pension that you get from a pension provider – usually an insurance company. You contribute to a personal pension* fund which is invested to build up a fund to provide you with an income in retirement. The pension you get will depend on level of contributions you make, investment growth and annuity rates at the time you retire. Personal pensions provided through the workplace are called group personal pensions.
